Jane entered the Financial Services Industry in 1989 when she joined Philip J Milton & Co Plc in Devon, in Southwest England. The company was a bespoke fundmanagement company managing portfolios, pension funds, as well as ISAs and PEPs. In what transpired to become a 15 year career with the company she undertook various roles and responsibilities, and was individually regulated by the Financial Intermediaries and Managers and Brokers Regulatory Association (FIMBRA). This became the PIA and was later superseded by the current Financial Services Authority. She also qualified as a member of the Institute of Financial Planners.
Jane had direct responsibility for the company’s execution-only share-dealing service, managing all staff dealing with processing Life, Pension and Protection arrangements as well as the Probate and Estates Administration department and undertook mortgage broking. Jane became a qualified, registered Financial Adviser in 1998, maintaining close relationships with portfolio investors. She was responsible for collating all performance statistics for all funds under management for marketing and regulatory reporting purposes. She was the direct liaison with the company’s London based custodians for the £62million of funds under management held within Portfolios and Pensions. In 2000 she became a director of the company and took an active role in the company’s portfolio investment selection process.
In 2004 Jane took what some (in fact nearly everyone she met!) saw as a rash decision to move to New Zealand with her three daughters to join her partner, Richard, a kiwi man. With their combined possie of 7 children, four cats, a dog and half a dozen ferrel chickens there is never a dull moment!
On arriving in New Zealand Jane joined the banking sector as a financial adviser, travelling throughout the Bay of Plenty region, providing financial planning, investment and insurance solutions to clients.
Jane has a passion for continued education within the financial services arena. She is currently studying towards becoming a Certified Financial Planner and is a member of the Institute of Financial Advisers.
Along with the team at G3 Financial Freedom, Jane has an overriding enthusiasm for building long term relationships with clients such as those she enjoyed with her 15 years with Philip J Milton & Company and to providing holistic financial planning advice.
Jane has a strong technical and working knowledge of the UK Pensions sector and is able to provide comprehensive advice to UK immigrants considering transfer of their pension funds to New Zealand.
