Charlene Overell, CFPcm CLU AIF®
Director

I’ve been part of the Financial Services industry since leaving school in 1984 in the UK. Over the years in both my business and personal life, I’ve had a passion for helping people to be the best they can be, and this includes challenging myself in all sorts of ways too. I honed my knowledge and skills within the corporate insurance company world, working in customer service, pension scheme departments, personal insurance and becoming a Business Development Manager for 10 years. Having always wanted to be an independent financial planning professional, I move to a large financial services business providing investment and financial planning advice to many clients, and this is where I ‘found my calling’.
I immigrated to New Zealand in 2005 with my husband and then two young children, working within an investment business based in Tauranga. I’ve enjoyed being a Scout Leader and a volunteer driving navigator with Blue Light Youth Driver Navigation Programme, as being able to support other’s personal development and encourage the wonderful spirit of new adventure is something special.
In 2010 I became an owner and director of G3 and I’m proud of how our business has grown. It’s a privilege to be able to make a positive difference to our client’s lives, supporting them along their journey of living their best life and feeling financially secure.
I’ve worked hard throughout my career to underpin my values and beliefs with a huge range of skills and experience which I continue to develop and enjoy passing on. I’m proud to be a Certified Financial Planner (CFPCM), Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU): designations earned following a rigorous examination process and certification by professional bodies worldwide. Over the years I’ve supported our professional body and associations by being on various committees, as ‘giving back’ and helping develop our profession is dear to my heart!! My time in this profession has given me wisdom in all areas of life!
In my personal life I enjoy having fun times with my family, travelling, skiing, reading a good book in the sunshine, cycling and mini golf (the latter being a competitive family activity!!)
