I joined the Financial Services industry in 1989 working in a bespoke financial planning company in North Devon in the UK for the first 15 years. Whilst fee based financial planning was at the core of the company, I was also responsible for the company’s share-dealing service, processing of life, pension and protection arrangements as well as collating performance statistics for pension funds under management and reporting to the regulators. Â
This broad approach led to a strong technical knowledge but it was the holistic financial planning side of the work that I enjoyed the most. Â
In 2004 I was lured to New Zealand by my now husband Richard, bringing my 3 daughters with me to blend with his 4 children and settled in Rotorua where we still live.
After a short experience working in my first ever corporate environment, it became clear to me that I wouldn’t get the long-term meaningful client relationships I needed and the idea of a boutique business was formed. Establishing and being a part of G3 Financial Freedom enables me to help people on their financial journey with their own unique needs – something I have always done and love to do. Â
As a company we have always believed that alongside experience it is important to continue to develop and to be hold professional qualifications. I am a Certified Financial Planner (CFPCM), Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) – which are worldwide adopted qualifications and designations. I am a member of our professional body, Financial Advice New Zealand and have been involved in various committee roles for advisory organisations over the years.
